General Terms and Conditions of Service

1. Definitions

  • Client – any individual who uses Sandy Walks’ services for their dog(s).

  • Sandy Walks – Sandy Walks S.à r.l.-S., registered in Luxembourg (RCS: B297872), established at 2, Rue Jean engling, 1466 dommeldange.

  • Contract – the agreement formed between the Client and Sandy Walks consisting of these General Terms and any specific booking confirmation or agreement.

  • Dog – the animal entrusted to Sandy Walks’ care under the Contract.

  • Dog Walking – individual or group walks in public spaces for exercise and enrichment.

  • Daycare – daytime care of dogs at Sandy Walks’ home environment with walks, playtime, and rest.

  • Boarding – overnight or multi-day home care including walks, feeding, and supervision.

2. Scope of Application

  1. These Terms apply to all services provided by Sandy Walks.

  2. By booking or using any service, the Client confirms having read and accepted these Terms in full.

  3. No verbal agreements are binding unless confirmed in writing by Sandy Walks.

  4. Sandy Walks may update these Terms; any change applies only to future bookings.

3. Client Obligations

  1. The Client must provide all information necessary for the safe and proper care of their dog, including:

    • Vaccination records (rabies vaccination required by law);

    • Details of health conditions, medications, allergies, and behavioural traits.

  2. The Client must supply sufficient food, medication (with veterinary instructions if applicable), collar/harness, leash, and any personal items required for the dog’s comfort.

  3. Dogs must be covered by valid third-party liability insurance. Proof of insurance may be requested.

  4. Sandy Walks may refuse or terminate a service if:

    • Vaccination or insurance documents are missing;

    • The dog poses a safety risk to other animals or people.

  5. The Client agrees to inform Sandy Walks promptly of any changes in contact information or the dog’s health or behaviour.

  6. If Sandy Walks must purchase food, medication, or other items during care, these costs will be reimbursed by the Client upon presentation of receipts.

  7. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled service may be charged in full.

4. Sandy Walks Obligations

  1. Sandy Walks undertakes to perform services professionally, safely, and with care.

  2. Dogs are supervised at all times while under care.

  3. Walks are conducted only in safe, public areas and adjusted for each dog’s fitness, temperament, and weather conditions.

  4. In case of illness or emergency, Sandy Walks will seek veterinary attention from the dog’s usual vet or an available local clinic. Veterinary fees are payable by the Client.

  5. Sandy Walks will inform the Client promptly of any significant incident involving their dog.

5. Privacy and Data Protection

  1. Sandy Walks collects and processes personal data only as necessary to perform services and comply with legal obligations, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Luxembourg Law of 1 August 2018.

  2. Client data is used solely for communication, service management, and invoicing.

  3. Data will not be shared with third parties except where required by law.

  4. Clients may request access, correction, or deletion of their data at any time by contacting privacy@sandywalks.lu.

  5. For complaints, clients may contact the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD).

6. Payment Terms

  1. Prices are displayed on the website or communicated by quotation. All prices are in euros and VAT exempt under Article 57 of the Luxembourg VAT Law.

  2. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice unless agreed otherwise.

  3. Late payments may incur suspension of services until settled.

  4. Additional costs (e.g. veterinary care, transport, food purchased on behalf of the Client) are billed at cost.

  5. Payments can be made by bank transfer or another agreed upon method.

7. Contract Duration and Termination

  1. Each booking constitutes a separate service agreement.

  2. Either party may terminate the service for valid reason, including breach of obligations or welfare concerns.

  3. Sandy Walks may cancel or reschedule services in case of illness, severe weather, or safety concerns; clients will be informed as soon as possible.

  4. In the event of the dog’s death or serious illness, the Contract ends automatically.

8. Liability

  1. Sandy Walks holds professional liability insurance.

  2. Sandy Walks is not responsible for illness, injury, or death arising from pre-existing conditions, force majeure, or incidents outside reasonable control.

  3. The Client remains legally responsible for any damages or injuries caused by their dog.

  4. In the event of loss, accident, or injury, Sandy Walks’ liability is limited to the amount covered by its insurance policy.

  5. Neither party is liable for failures due to force majeure (e.g. extreme weather, accidents, public emergencies).

9. Walks, Daycare, and Boarding Specifics

Dog Walking

  • Individual or small-group walks (maximum 6 dogs).

  • Group composition is determined by Sandy Walks based on size, temperament, and compatibility.

  • Walk duration: 30 or 60 minutes (excluding travel).

  • Walks occur Monday to Friday, including Luxembourg public holidays.

Daycare

  • Available weekdays between 7:00–18:30.

  • Maximum of four dogs at any one time.

  • Includes walks, play, and rest periods.

Boarding

  • Home-based overnight care.

  • Includes daily walks, feeding, and supervision.

  • Limited to four dogs at a time.

  • Clients must supply food and any necessary medication.

10. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

  1. Any complaint should be made promptly and in writing to complaints@sandywalks.lu.

  2. If no amicable resolution is reached, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Luxembourg City.

11. Governing Law

This contract and any disputes arising under it are governed by the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

12. Acceptance

By booking or confirming a service, the Client acknowledges having read and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full.
